Why is the sky so bright at 3 am in his video?

 

I don’t understand why selected beta testers aren’t allowed to share previews, comparisons, or similar content.

 

Yeah, that is a bit weird, I've been in the Nurburgring at 4am in the middle of summer and the only lights are the discos and burning bins of 200k drunk Germans.

 

Hi, can anyone confirm if the AI's pit stop has been improved in version 1.6? Currently they take too long to brake in their box.

I run four monitors but don't have this issue. I'm assuming you have your triples set up with Nvidia surround?

 

Isn’t it so in the base game?

 

And the Nordschleife ist still the 2020 version, with the Michael Schumacher S Banner still missing.
I hope that at least the Banner will be added before the 1.6 release! It woulf be awesome to get a 2024 or 2025 update of the track, I still hope for that.
The VLN layout would be a nice addition, too.

 

I've the same issue, but I've got it setup without nvidea surround. I know using surround can get rid of the problem, but it's not ideal if you want to use the pc for something else. I hope they can fix it, as it is possible in other sims, but they'll get to it once they see fit. Tbh, I much rather have improvement in Ai than the 4th screen.

 

I saw that on the mini-map that the separate classes didn't have different colors to show the difference. Hopefully this is changed in a later update.

 

I feel your pain. I use the pc for work and have a 49" ultrawide which I use from a display port and have been having to unplug it and then re-do the surround. However, I have just ordered a KVM switch so I can now at least stop the unplugging and plugging in.

 

To me it looks like he might have found a lighting bug with the bright sky during the night?! The shaders of the cars also don't fit the environment, at least for my eye. They pop out too much and it feels a bit unnatural. And they have some light reflections that I would not expect in such lightning . But to be fair, the track, time and weather combination might be an edge case for the initial release of 1.6.

 

Yeah, the Madness engine never seems to look dark enough at night, but that's on another level. He could have basically turned his headlights and wipers off.

Not sure why he complained so much about low level mechanical grip when the track was still visibly wet but he definitely thought it lacked mechanical grip where he expected to find some. Not sure I agree given the wetness of the track but hard to tell in a video I guess.

AMS2 must have a huge German following judging by the preview videos that got the green light. Hopefully we can all try it for ourselves soon enough.

 

I’m not sure if it's his settings, but the game doesn't look too hot in this video. The skybox is very gray, and everything seems disconnected—the cars, the track, the sky... it's strange. Maybe it's the combination of the weather/fog and nighttime? Later in the video, when the sun rises, the game looks much better.

In this capture, the car in front looks like it's made of cardboard, the skybox is almost a plain gray, the trees look flat, and the lighting feels very unnatural.

 

To me the night on the Nordschleife 1.5 feels natural and plenty dark. I have reduced the exposure about 25% but that should not make a huge difference.

 

I don't think it's per se too low mechanical grip, but don't expect too much out of wet tyres for this class (yet). In my opinion rear tyres indeed like sliding a little too much and don't have a clear distinction between gripping and drifting.
