If it was made as those "games a service" then it would die out after 6 months like the usual story goes, so i am glad they never decided to call it that way. EDIT TO AVOID MISUNDERSTANDING --- yes the UPDATE is free for everyone but obviously there is paid DLC that comes with it --- Although i agree that it was spoken about years ago how people should be aware they bought an "ongoing process", but at this point thankfully the game has a LOT of great things about it that makes it worth it. Hell it was worth it to me 2 years ago when i started playing.

The UPDATE itself is totally free, you'll get a couple of free cars and all the physics/graphics/UI/AI/Whatever updates free of charge.
The DLCs themselves aren't billed as part of the update, they are simply being developed and released alongside the update.

Update is free to everybody that has AMS2. Period, there's no debate around it.. every car, every track, UI, AI, multiplayer, graphics, sound.. apart from 4 cars that are coming again, free to everybody that has ams2 already. You're gonna get the update whether you pay for the dlc or not

With the hype about the update, I would also be careful like Reiza, because if the update does not turn out as the community expects it to be, the disappointing,
It is obvious from my observation that the update is not yet ready or the team Reiza is not satisfied with the complete result to release it.
That's why the team should leave more time for a good update than an unfinished one

In this update there are several car freebies plus all of the upgrades to graphics, AI, MP, UI etc. DLCs are just for content: you like it you buy it, otherwise you are free to leave it.

No. People have a problem with deadlines that are missed without saying a thing until it is too late. It wouldn't have been much of an effort at the beginning of September to say that the update was nowhere near complete instead of waiting until the last day of the deadline to say that the update was coming in weeks not months, then wait almost 2 months to say the update is coming in the next days, then we are 3 weeks in and the update is still not there. So stop saying people is mad because the update is taking long. People is mad because of misleading communication.

If this week there is no update or dev blog, people will logically be mad again if nobody shows up here saying that it is not happening, but if that happens people will be chill even though the update doesn't come. So please stop blaming the players for bad communication

At some point though a game / update / project / whatever you are working on, must release. You cannot delay forever because at some point you just have to say "Good enough" and move on otherwise you will be stuck forever perfecting something. Just look at how "Stalker Oblivion Lost" had ambitions to be the most epic biggest thing ever until they had to cut off like a third of the game to get it all done.

I also don't believe Reiza ever released an "unfinished" update in the last two years, every one that came out as far as i remember always had something that made it totally worth it, and none were rushed. Sure there were always some bugs that came with it but those were one at a time ironed out because it is impossible to have something with no bugs.

Once again we’re seeing the chaos that unclear communication can cause. And in this case, purposely vague and cryptic — despite the (understandable) frustration around gaps in communication since May.

I interpreted Renato’s note to mean that 1.6 would release by this weekend. I’m not alone, and if that’s not what he meant, he should clarify ASAP. It’s a disservice to the game and community to toy with our expectations otherwise.

I'm not blaming the players for bad communication. Reiza has said that communication could improve, and I think pretty much everybody can agree, but then again the reason why the update is taking long is because of polishing, nothing else, nobody wants to release this more than them, for us, its a game, for them it's their livelyhood.
And I think most people would be wise to not take things like: A few weeks, sometime in september, a few days.. like concrete dates that have to be met without fail, those are developers stimations, and it will depend on the hiccups they encounter along the way, if things go wrong, they'll spend more time polishing those, so that everybody can get a better product at the end

So if the lead dev says a few weeks, sometime in september, a few days etc I`m supposed to not believe / ignore them.

If they say: The update is going to be release on September 21. Then yes, you should believe them.
if they say: We plan that the update will be finished in a few weeks, then no, you should understand thats just a estimation of how long they think it's going to take.

I understand your point, and it’s clear no one doubts Reiza’s dedication to delivering a polished product. However, Akak7’s comment highlights the issue: the frustration isn’t about the time Reiza takes or their right to perfect their work—it’s about the lack of clear communication when timelines shift significantly. Many people outside the Paddock Club base their expectations on those rough estimates, so when "a few weeks" turns into months or "summer" becomes winter, it’s easy to see why confusion arises. Better communication during these shifts could go a long way in managing those expectations.

And to that, I'll write once again what I already wrote:

Rule of thumb here is: Reiza basically never mentions solid release dates, they only mention a releasewindow which they're aiming for, isn't an update released in that window, it will be later, that can be hours/days/weeks or months.

4 years ago i did the same as many others, thinking it was an actual deadline, however i've learned that it's not, and that the way they work isn't gonna change, i would advise everyone to do the same, wether you are annoyed or not, satisfied or not, it won't have any influence on the release of the update, it won't be here sooner, it also wont be here later because of it, so make your live more fun and go outside and touch grass, play a different game, or a different sim to your liking, and appreciate the update when it's released.

Reiza will release the update when they feel it's good/stable enough to release it, if they release an update and people for example get CTD's all over the place, there would be more people complaining about that!

If they dont comunicate at all till saturday the forum should be closed till they do

I get your point. To be clear, in the Paddock Club we are not provided anything more around time estimates than anyone else. We are anxious too! In this forum, 3 days ago (Saturday), it was hinted we would have something more regarding 1.6 at this time next week, that’s 4 days from now (Saturday).

I visit this forum from time to time to hopefully answer a question regarding 1.6 testing. I see no reason to do that any longer really. I think you guys are missing an opportunity in this regard by circling the same wagon.

Anyway, a suggestion of something to do until 1.6 releases: Formula Classic Gen2 at Jacarepaguá historic '88

Especially with the 1988 skin pack from The Website Formerly Known As RaceDepartment.

    Keep yer wheels turnin', fellas:cool:
