Hello, wanted to give a mini review as i had more time to play 1.6 update.

Driving is fantastic !!! The first minute i was on track i was able to feel weight on corners, flex on the tyres, the fast corners are a good exemple of being on edge with a small gap between perfection or spin (but i can feel the limit with a DD).

A think that surprise me a lot is understeer. This is the first time that i feel this effect on AMS2 . Now too much steering angle or slip angle give lees grip on tyre. Plus sliding is gone.

For the sound departement the exterior sound are amazing (top of sim games) and interior also with maybe a bit more surround can be better.

For UI this is more easy and more pleasant for eyes .

And the content is a dream for a endurance lover specially the LMP2 and Sebring.

IA plus MP had great improvement that give a lot of enjoyement.

With everything that 1.6 add AMS 2 have a solid base and can be the best sim easily.

So After all the clash due to communication i have to say that is was worth the Time ! :hurrayreiza:

is there a solution? I noticed in the camera settings, all positions are blocked at 88. before the update I could go down to 60

I've taken the opportunity to drive more laps while trialing out various steering (i.e., FFB) deadzone settings using Reiza's custom "basic" FFB profile with my Logitech G25 (Gain 70, LFB 60, Damping 0 FX 0). My Logitech profiler is running a 10% centering force (see AMS1 Users Manual).

From a functional sense, I would simply describe the steering/FFB deadzone setting as a highlighter. I ended up adopting a "less is more" approach regarding the use of any steering/FFB deadzone. Given the obviously narrow dynamic range of a G25, I did feel that a steering/FFB deadzone setting of 3 was sufficient, in my case, to improve tire feel while cornering by dampening some forces to help clarify others. When hammering the Carrera Cup around Curitiba, for example, I could better feel the rear tires hook up when looking to accelerate out of a corner. Also, the tire audio when cornering or at or past the tire's limit seemed more instructive. The same result could arguably be achieved by another user's G25 with a different LFB value and no FFB deadzone added, but I'm hardly going to lose any sleep if I choose to utilize two filters (LFB & FFB deadzone) rather than just one.

Try to make a save of your documents folder and delete it, start the game and let it create a new one, and see if it fixes the problem.

after several tests, I changed all the digits in the folder 'DocumentsAutomobilista 2triplescreensettings.xml to see if there was a difference, in game no difference. Yesterday afternoon it was still working well with my settings, after the 1.6.3 update. big triple screen problem

Am I the only one in the world??? .

Gear based wheels already have a ffb deadzone, one that you can't get rid of (unfortunately) - I'd argue it's the main reason DD wheels are better.

Automobilista 2 V1.4 Force Feedback Overview & Recommendations

If you read that you see LFB is more or less Reiza's idea to counter it.

It's ironic that 2022/2023 pretty much searching for 'deadzone' in the forums has the custom ffb people removing any ffb deadzone. Now DD wheels exist - technology specifically so you don't have deadzones the forum is trying to add one back?

Hi, since I still haven’t been able to try 1.6 (motherboard died and I’m waiting for replacement - great timing) I cannot really tell if it’s due to 1.6 physics, but maybe it could be due different tire compounds? Ex: you on medium and AI on soft? Normally tire difference IRL can give some meters of initial advantage. If this is not the case you might need to tweak car settings to have a better initial traction (besides TC adjustments) Ex. Differential settings, tire pressures, suspension etc.

Thanks for the advice, in this example I had soft ones, but I'll try tinkering with things in the setup to see what happens.

These cars include launch control, it doesn't look to be activated in your video.

Do you have it bound and are you using it? The AI are and it will help with getting off the line.

In the video I don't have it activated nor do I know if I use it correctly, because when I use it the traction control comes on very hard and the car jerks. One question, is the launch control used by holding and releasing, as if it were a clutch or simply pressing the button and it is activated?

How do you use the throttle when starting?

I don't know if this is standard or wrong but when starting i have low TC, pump the throttle in Gear 1 at green light and immediately ease off, then ease back on and then shift to Gear 2. This means i'm more stable in the beginning without excessive wheel spin, and this has helped me pull in front in many AI and multiplayer races.

Reiza, I own every DLC so far, but I do not own the Premium Track Pack, because I bought them (all tracks) seperatly. When I want to purchase the new DLCs with the All Inclusive Bundle, Steam wants me to buy the Premium Track Pack. Is this the correct way or will this maybe be fixed?

Just wanted to quickly throw out there that people should not sleep on the gt4 Audi...

Extensively "tested" for hours at R Atlanta, Mosport, Brands and Donington.
I'm on the Rack Force ffb file atm, and it all really shines.
Standouts for me are the weighty, sluggish feel of a car that is irl on the very heavy side. Very nice transition and feel of weight on non-straight braking zones and track undulations.

With all that weight and relatively soft suspension I'm also seeing some disparity in how the tires heat up.
Diagonal borderline overheating when racing in anger with the remaining 2 tires on the cold side of optimal.
Some creative stiffening of arb/springs can mitigate this nicely, but tends to make the tail-happy characteristics of the car stand out even more.

If you like a mildly oversteery car that loves to step out at any opportunity and has all the momentum to coast to apexes.
And that also races very, very well with the AI at say 107 skill on all the above tracks... You should look no further.

Smoothest criminal imo of the entire lineup(with Rack Force ffb, page 439 I think on the Custom ffb thread)
And an absolute gem in 1.6 that nobody should miss out on.

Sorry to open a new topic, but I am curious - is brake fade modelled? I was racing group C at Oulton (lots of braking and direction changing all the time) and I noticed at some point that, whilst my tires were in the standard window (maybe 75-80) as it was early evening, the braking point at some point got way earlier (i.e. I overshot, specifically at the (knickerbrook?) chicane after the hill). Had I overheated my brakes and they had faded? Is this sim really so incredible? Or did something else happen and I was just being a bad driver?
