Not surprised at all. For some reason on AMS2 matters rather than opening the way they follow the common users trends. Pretty unusual situation but has been the same for years. There will be for sure a logical explanation :)

First of all hi and happy holidays to everyone !

as F1 fan this is what i notice:

After the last update Mclaren MP4/8 became too fast with the recent change on ford engines RPM (tested on Monza and i easily reach about 340 kmp/h on straight)

Will V10 Gen1 ever get sound update cus it sound awful compared to other F1 cars,

Mclaren MP4/12 have distinctive interior sound as it should, but exterior sound like generic V10 and doesn't match it.

Everything else feel great in 1.6 for me, can't wait to see more IMSA content.

Don't have time to record video sorry, but you can test it on your own,
here is a screenshot (default setup btw)

Also, this speed is without 90s DRS, with it can probably reach 340 way before...

Haha, this "Yotuber Experts"... i was watching some of them on the first days of 1.6 and LFM(i wanted to know how LFM works...).
Some of them are also "good esport drivers". On their first streams one of them was asking the Chat where to assign Pit Limiter, where can i set FFb gain, one other of them said there is no Relative/standings screen, one of them was driving like in a Hollywood movie and said he dont like the FFB because of oscilation, one was driving D+ and thinking he is on default FFB, and other "experts" of them were running FFB GAin at 85... and of course the "sliding" thing was often mention, from people driving with all the (too much)camera settings and "false" FFb sets, with base Carsetup on the first Laps out of Pit. So, this people have a big influence to there "followers"... for me this is a society problem not only in SimRacing. I dont believe that any "Sim" out there is near to real Life, for that we would need a real G-Force Simulator and much more other things to check ;-) . But AMS2 for me gives you a more "complete" feeling/immersion than all the others(Specially FFB/Susp/Tires/Brake Temp/Wear) The key things are knowing Car/track, Brake/tire Temp, FFB settings, Diff/Car setup, Cam Settings, FOV and throttle work. When all is perfect, Sliding will be still there but as an result of overdriving the car.(maybe throttle Position and Engine/RPM/Torque is a bit off in some cars???, but can be improved when lowering the Thottle sensitive a bit) But that sliding theoretically also would happen (in some or other way) in Real Life, but real G-Forces will "protect" real Drivers in that situation to react earlier. All my personal opinion and observation ;-) I´m so happy that i´m not a "follower" of anything, Life is much more fun! Thank you Reiza and also thanks to all the faithful and objective Beta Testers and the Custom FFb people!

It seems to me that the whole HiTech Gen2 class has messed up straightline speed. Interestingly enough, I think the Model 3 is extremely slow on the straights, way slower than it should be. The McLaren, which has the exact same engine, has always been a rocketship in comparison, when in real life they were pretty closely matched. The V12 cars are quite a bit slower on the straights than the McLaren, but still a lot faster than the generic V8s. And the V10s are rocketships, as they were in real life, but, as half of the field is too slow, their gap to the other cars (except the McLaren) is significantly bigger than it was in reality.

This is all with the high downforce cars though, haven't driven the low downforce versions a lot recently.

    for MP4/12 here

Formula Ultimate Gen 1 should also sound a bit different(more raw) from Gen 2 because Gen 1 have seperate waste gates from main exhaust as you can see in game, for example :

So, just now I'm having a race, time to pitstop, is says "pitbox currently ocuppied" or something, so my car just go straight through the pitlane, no pitstop. I have a drop of fuel in my tank, not enough to do another lap, so I just raced 30 minutes for nothing, if the pitbox is ocuppied isnt it normal for the cars just ghost over one another?

Sounds like a problem with the AI-controlled pit stops. If you have pit stops set to manual, you can drive into your spot just fine.

Edit: At least I don't remember any cases where my manual pit stop failed because my spot was occupied.

Could be, never happened before, never bothered to use manual pit stops also. Either way it looks like a bug. @CrimsonEminence?

That message is telling you your box is occupied by your team mate. If you wait for the next lap, presumably, the box will be empty.

If you have run fuel down right to the wire, and your team mate is in the box, you need to either yell at him or the team manager for not scheduling the stops properly ;)

If you choose not to wait for the next lap, you can wait in the pit lane for the other car to leave. This assumes you are controlling your own pit stops and not using AI control. I don't believe the AI control is programmed to wait in the pit lane if you make the mistake of ignoring the pit box occupied message.

You don't even have to wait. Just drive right into the sign. Whether there's another car there or not.

Wait, I have team mates?! I didnt realize this was a thing in AMS2 haha, I assume they are the other liveries for the same car? Living and learning, I'll just start doing manual pitstops I guess.

When using manual pitstops and you see that message you can still do your pitstop as usual, no need to wait at all, cars are ghosted in the pits, it is however more difficult to see where you need to stop, as the indicator isn't very visible when there is already a car there, but you can ignore that message and just make your pitstop.

    AC fanboy here...
    I bought into ams2 4 years ago.
drove AMS1 since gamestockcar, or what that was called....
    Loved it!
    ISIengine for the win.

than Kunos did what they did.... Loved it. street cars on the Nords.

AMS2 was a big let down on early access for me, bought and refunded instantly.
"Better than Pcars2....." oh my, how bad that might be.....

    then came 1.6...

No more rotation on a virtual center axis, no more excessive sliding.

I was hooked. And let me tell: AC, AMS1 and the others:
These are a generation away feelwise.
What ams2 does with ffb is miles ahead of those other sims.
FX:100 I must admit. thats the way in ams2. dampening to your liking.

this is the best driving experience I ever had, hand down.

AC Evo will have a strong contender.

    Cheers.

AMS2 is now so predictable. That is a realistic as we can hope for from a game aimed at mainstream and console markets. With 1.6, for the most part, you can find ways to eke out a few tenths here or there. You have to be more disciplined and give what the track gives you. While we awaited the update, I was way too busy to sim race. Getting back with 1.6, I'm now finding I have to hone my skills to keep up. Even holding the steering wheel properly lap after lap becomes important. With 1.6 you gotta do the little things that make you better than the next racer.

On top of all you said, Reiza gives you all this quality in a very easy to get going process. I never spend more than a few minutes getting the game settings I like and a setup that works for me. And it looks awesome!
