Is it currently a game BUG that puddles are not forming on any track ever no matter how heavy the rain is ? The track is properly WET and dry lines are forming depending on the changing weather and how cars are driving, but since 1.6 came out i have never had a race where a puddle would actually form. There is also the situation where no matter the weather once a part of the track becomes wet, it will NEVER dry up no matter how hot becomes.

There are no more details to give. Start any race at like default date, 12:00, weather - storm, observe how the track is WET but there is not a single puddle on the track ever, unlike how they were before 1.6

 

Have you driven all circuits using these settings? all layouts? What was the livetrack preset?

 

Every livetrack preset results in the same - zero puddles anywhere.
I tested many tracks and this point, it is always the same, track is wet and shiny but no puddles.

These LOOK like puddles on the track but it is just a texture that has zero effect on the car behavior.

That video thumbnail reminds me of a feature that a lot of online players want but developers refuse to implement in their games: a button to raise your finger whenever somebody does something stupid in a online race. I mean, real drivers do it, so implementing it in-game would make the game more realistic, right?

 

And AMS2 should have it since it happened in IMSA

 

It was one of the very few key/button mappable functions in GPL

 

I’ve raised it a fair few times , They are probably sick of me but I don’t think working flags is something that can be done otherwise it would be in and working already. Was it in Ams1 ?

Perhaps the menu text can be something like "GOING FOR FIRST GESTURE"

I also recently saw another BTCC video where a driver points at another and then sticks up his two fingers - in Britain meaning "F*** you". Murray Walker says "You're ahead, and i'm second behind you says O'Dor" without missing a beat! I could definitely find a spare button on my wheel for this

 

I agree, visually the rain looked better before, as did the wet track.

 

I think in the past it was overdone to be honest, but I agree now it looks too little. They probably will still tune it to find a middle ground? I believe their last notes mentioned some tweaks on standing water. Let’s wait if this will further change.

 

It’s an ever evolving simulator so we shouldn’t think or say they can’t fix it

 

I think Reiza have opted for the lesser of 2 evils with the puddles, before some huge unavoidable lakes formed on some tracks that made it impossible to drive on the wet. On others they formed where the player could avoid them but the AI would slow massively and made it a joke to race against them.

I think the most lackluster issue with the wet conditions right now is visually, the rain drops in light rain looks like a pretty heavy downpour making it very awkward driving for 20+ minutes in what looks like heavy rain and the track barely getting wet. The wet tarmac looks very basic and you cant really see the dry line at all because the only difference between dry and wet tarmac is how it shines, only in certain lighting conditions do you really see it, you never see something like the photo below.


Plus there's the issue with the track temperatures not changing realistically in the rain and the track temps stay too high, thus making the whole track dry out much faster than it should. I think these issues are more pressing than some puddles, yes they are cool to see on some corners so long as you can avoid them and it doesn't affect the AI in a way to make them uncompetitive, but for the overall experience, the visual representation and the issue with the track temps are more important IMHO.

Does anyone know if slipstreaming from invisible opponents in Private Qualifying is still possible ?

 

There is bug like falling a step from stairs when exiting from garage on Suzuka / Kansai on practice (happens to me with f1 car) , also will we ever get a proper / updated Classic Kansai and not just a last chicane difference to modern ?
