Automobilista 2 December 2020 Development Update
Greetings everyone - here we are again for our last AMS2 Dev Update of the year!
As mentioned in our previous catch-up earlier this month, we have been working hard to deliver a quite substantial update for AMS2 in our 2020 wrap-up - the whole team has in fact been at it through the Holiday season so far in order to tick as many boxes as we´re able in this update, and we are now in process of rounding it up for release at some point before New Year´s eve.
To ease the suspense, we decided to bring this Dev Update forward a bit in order to give you all a glimpse into what you may expect for this final AMS2 update of 2020 - hope you enjoy it!
Back to the 90´s With GT1 Cars
On the content front, the highlight of the new update is the addition of the 90s GT1 Series, with 3 iconic models (Mercedes... -
Automobilista 2 October 2020 Development Update
Greetings everyone!
It´s great to be back with another Development Update after missing out on our usual catch-up last month, for which I´d like to apologise to anyone who was disappointed by it - a combination of circumstances meant there was neither time nor material to post a substantial update then.
We´re gonna try make up for that now with a slightly early October Development update, to present you all with some very exciting news about what we have been putting together for our next Automobilista 2 update
THE ARC OF PROGRESS
This month marks the completion of two years since Automobilista 2 went into production with the Madness engine, and a mere 8 months since the very first Beta was release to backers. A lot of ground has been covered in this time, and we´re very proud of what we have managed to achieve in what is by all measures a relatively short window of time in game development.... -
Reiza General Update - Fresh News All Around!
Hello everyone!
We´re finally back to offer some fresh Reiza info for you.. I know some of you have been earning for it for a while now
Firstly I´d like to assure that the relative lack of news do not mean things haven´t been going on in the background, but some news are indeed overdue and this feels like a good time to offer a round-up of where we stand on various topics - here goes!
Reiza Next Title (aka Reiza 201X or the AMS Sequel)
This is understandably the biggest source of antecipation so let´s start with that - I´ll try share as much as I can
For those of you who may not be aware, some background info: we first announced plans to develop a fully new title after licensing the ISIMotor2 Engine back in 2015 as part of the SimRacing Bonanza crowdfunding campaign to fund further development to Stock Car Extreme (eventually turned into Automobilista), as a way to give... -
Automobilista v1.5.24 out now - Hotfixed to v1.5.3
The final update to Automobilista is out, and with it the last DLCs featuring two popular British tracks as Donington Park and Snetterton are also available both as standalone items as well as a part of the AMS Season Pass:
DONINGTON PARK
SNETTERTON
While a hotfix for eventual minor glitches from this release is possible, v1.5.24 is the last major update and marks the conclusion for Automobilista development. To celebrate the occasion we have launched the Automobilista Ultimate Edition, which bundles the base game with the Automobilista Season Pass, granting you all that AMS has to offer in a single purchase, 50% off the full price!
Below is the... -
Automobilista 2 April 2020 Development Update
Greetings everyone! We hope you all have been keeping safe and catching up with your sim racing while we continue to go through these surreal times.
It´s now been a month since Automobilista 2 was released in Steam Early Access, and what a ride it has been up to here! It´s been great to see the game being overall very positively received and that the sim racing community shares our confidence about its future.
Most will not be aware but with both Stock Car Extreme and Automobilista 1 being free updates to those who bought the previous version of the game, Automobilista 2 is actually our first completely new title release since Game Stock Car 2013 back in November 2013! And despite the less than ideal circunstances surrounding all of us these days, we are happy to say the game has got off to a very strong start.
As we have continued to stress since the initial announcement, Automobilista 2 is a long term project but we feel we have now crossed the... -

Official Automobilista 2 website now live!
We finally have our official AMS2 live at www.game-automobilista2.com
Still some bits to be added such as specs and infos for each vehicle in the game, but this should already hopefully be an useful overview of AMS2 for those looking to learn more about it, and a good source of info as to what lays in the road ahead for those already onboard!
New AMS2 Packages Now Available on Steam!
We have launched two extra Steam packages for those interested in Automobilista 2 and / or its DLC:

Automobilista 2 January 2021 Development Update
Greetings Everyone! Here we are for the first dev update of what promises to be a very exciting year for Automobilista 2.
We have started the year as we left off 2020, with foot hard on the gas and already deploying a couple of substantial updates to bring some important core developments to physics & AI. Along with another batch of general developments, the latest v1.1.1.0 release has also introduced a couple of neat Ginetta G40 variants nicely filling that tin top club racing niche that was still under represented in AMS2.
Even before the update went out, we were already pushing towards some of the steps that will follow in the coming months - let´s take a closer look into those...
2021 Roadmap - Fast, But Steady
As suggested in the last two dev updates, we have been opting to slightly throttle back on our release schedule for new content relative to our original roadmap in these recent updates. We will continue to put... -
Automobilista 2 August 2020 Development Update
Hello everyone! Happy to bring you all another round of our traditional monthly development catch-up.
The month of August has been buzzing with racing again as most series push to catch up with the time lost during the early months of the year due to the onset of the pandemic, and so it has been another productive month of catching up for ourselves as we have continued to push hard to make up some ground from our official release a couple of months back with a continuous flux of substantial core game updates - I dare say that with our latest v1.0.2.7 we have come closer to the standard we were hoping to be at when crossing that milestone.
This of course does not mean the game is already as good as it can be or that we we have run out of things to improve and fix; Automobilista 2 is afterall a long term project and there is plenty of items still on our to-do list for the coming months. There is a long road ahead still, but we hope those that have... -
Automobilista - August Development Update
Hello everyone!
Bit of a last minute update to round up this month of August, which as you can imagine has been a particularly busy one with the release of AMS v1.0. It´s still proving busy in fact as along with usual post-release duties we´ve been working since then on addressing some issues for a hotfix due to be released tomorrow (Sept 2nd). For this reason I´d like to apologise in advance for keeping this update a bit shorter than previous entries. The upside hopefully should be a meatier entry next month
While AMS v1.0 bringing us out of Early Access has been an important milestone, AMS development is far from over. Here are some of the things we can share about what the next few months hold for it:
V1.01 hotfix
Since release last week we´ve identified a few teething issues which we have been since dutifully pursuing - one always tries to be ahead of these but unfortunately a full release is always a bit of a leap into the unknown as we go... -
Automobilista 2 V0.8.4.0 RELEASED!
Automobilista 2 v0.8.4.0 has been deployed now - here are some important info about the changes in this release:
BRAKES for all cars, including optimum temp ranges, wear, fade & failure properties have all been thoroughly revised according to the brake materials and specs of each car. These will address the brake failure issues from v0.8.3.2 and should hopefully provide more realistic wear and more "feel" on some cars.
CUSTOM DATE option has been temporarily removed from session options, now sessions will always run on default date for that track - with that we have also addressed the bug that would cause a new track selection to retain the default date of the previous track, which could be particularly problematic when for example the user switched from a Brazilian track with a December Summer default date to an European track, leading the latter to load with winter weather and temperatures with fairly big impact on physics that the user... -
Automobilista v1.4 is RELEASED, now updated to v1.4.05
Automobilista v1.40 is released, along with a new DLC: Hockenheimring is also available for purchase here.
If you are interested in other current & upcoming Automobilista DLCs however it is strongly recommended you check the AMS "Season Pass" for all upcoming DLCs (for those that already have the base game) and the bundle of AMS Base + Season Pass (which includes the base game).
Below is the Changelog for v1.3.7 -> v1.4.0:
CONTENT
- Added Hockenheimring (1977, 1988, 2001 and 2016, along with extra modern layouts - the Rallycross layout will be added shortly) (AVAILABLE ONLY FOR HOCKENHEIM OR SEASON PASS OWNERS)
- Added F-Ultimate series
FEATURES
- Added Custom Season Tool (available as a...

Automobilista - July Development Update
This month´s dev update is coming out a bit late - we have indeed been running a bit later than planned, and as a result v1.0 release isn´t quite behind us yet as we´d hoped for in our June Development update.
The good news is that the extra time has been put to good use, as even though a couple features have demanded a bit more time than we had anticipated, we have also used it to throw in some extra goodies into the v1.0 mix. Overall we have made some great progress again this month as you´ll hopefully notice as you read through this update, bringing us very close to v1.0 release and also to what´s coming beyond
Here are the main highlights from this past month:
V0.9.8 Release
A couple of weeks back we released AMS EA v0.9.8, which introduced some very nice... -
Automobilista 2 v.0.9.1.0 RELEASED!
The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit is now available in Automobilista 2! Also featuring in this update is the Sigma P1, which despite the name actually raced in P2 class for most of 2019, thanks to a somewhat overweight drivetrain. That´s the P2 car in the game now - the 2020 car promises to be a big step forward to bring the fight to the AJRs in P1 class, and once it gets to race it will have a version in AMS2 as well!
With these additions we are now up to 40 unique racing classes, 40 venues for over 70 layouts! Check out the full updated car & track llist here.
The new update rectifies some netcode issues that have made close racing difficult in Multiplayer mode up to now - all good for quality online action now!
The new buil also brings a round of AI performance callibration in this build to balance performance vs... -
Automobilista 2 V0.9.2.1 RELEASED!
This update is largely focused on FFB, physics and AI developments, but it also features a large assemble of improvements & fixes in all fronts, adds the option to save Replays to your Replay Gallery , new options to the HUD system along with new gameplay features and the first stage of our revamped lighting, featuring HDR & climate revisions.
As usual, when there are substantial physics & FFB changes some recallibration is in order to bring car-specific FFB & AI values up to the latest specs - both of those fronts have already been largely revised to suit the new developments but it may take another build to get the best of them for all cars in the game.
There is one last round of FFB developments to come before v1.0, at which point the "Old Default" profile will be discontinued. We recommend switching to "New Default" in the FFB configuration screen if you haven´t done so already.
With this FFB update tyre flatspots from a hard wheel lock-up under... -
Automobilista 2 V0.9.6.0 RELEASED, now updated to v0.9.6.1
This build introduces the new AI Strength logic - now the setting works more similarly to how it did in AMS1, as a more straight-forward AI Grip multiplier, without affecting other aspects of AI performance & behavior, to offer a much wider and more consistent scalar for setting up AI difficulty.
As in AMS1, the AI Strength slider is now restricted to a range of 70-120%, with default setting being 90% and a setting of 100% being equivalent of real world performance. Beware however that the AI in some series may still misbehave at extreme ends of the scale, and that that the new system still requires further callibration for consistency from series to series.
Given the relevance of the AI Strength development to making game more adjustable for a wider range of player skills, we´ve decided to roll this on to release already rather than hold it for v1.0.
V0.9.6 also features further physics & FFB fine tuning and a new batch of car suspension animations.... -
Automobilista 2 Early Access to be Updated Weekly - Dev Roadmap Overview
Automobilista 2 has been out on Early Access for a little over 2 weeks now, and it seems like a good time to share a bit more about our plans for the remainder of the Early Access period.
We have opted to go all the way in our initial proposal of 8 weeks of Early Access period, and may actually add a couple weeks more before official release in order to try make sure Automobilista 2 reaches v1.0 as well rounded and complete as we possibly can make it in this timeframe.
As ever, we stress that AMS2 is a long term project and development will continue way beyond the official release - v1.0 is all but a development milestone marking the game as "ready for normal consumption", or a reliable base for more serious racing both on and offline that allows users to make the best of the premium content to be added thereafter. That doesn´t mean it will be as complete or as good as it will ever be - we see plenty of room for improvement in every area of the game and... -
AUTOMOBILISTA 2 Released in Early Access! Now updated to v0.8.0.1
Automobilista 2 is finally here! We are very excited to be able to share what we have been working on all this time.
Please note that as an Early Access release the game is not yet complete - Time Trial & Championship mode are currently disabled but should become available over the first few weeks of Early Access.
Below are some further known common issues and limitations of:this initial release:
- UI & HUD are still deep in development, and currently feature the essentials for all game modes to work - this will be expanded with new options & features over the course of EA, with same pages being completely redesigned.
- Early Access is exclusively in English for the time being; Localization to other languages should only be added in time for the full Release.
- Driver names, suits and helmets are generic for all series as the whole system is being reestructured (also part of requirements for a revamped Opponents settings and the Custom...

Automobilista - September Development Update
Greetings folks Here´s our customary review of the work done in Automobilista development over the past month. We´ve been hard at it, both in the development of v1.1 update as well as production of the Brit Pack, both of which are expected for release at some point next week.
V1.1 Development
The major new feature for AMS v1.1 is the inclusion of Radio Spotter as developed by @gongo . This had been a very popular addition to the sim and now with native integration Dan has been able to take it a step further with more info and better accuracy from your race engineer.
Dan has also been doing some work to improve integration with the new Logitech drivers - v1.1 should hopefully see some proper support for their latest G29 / G920 wheels.
On the graphics front, @Alex Sawczuk and @Sandro Kholodkevich have done some great work on new car shaders and materials. Below is a shot of the flashy Ultima GTR... -
Automobilista 2 V0.9.3.1 RELEASED - Now updated to v0.9.3.2
This week´s update features further housekeeping, with focus again on the FFB / physics / AI combo as these fronts begin to come full circle for v1.0 release.
Relative to last week, the FFB changes have been a slight refactoring of the way steering arm forces pass on to FFB (should provide a slightly "tighter" wheel around the center), slightly reduced the FFB filters added in previous update & added soft lock for wheels that still didn´t have it.
Further FFB changes from now will be restricted to bug fixes, track/car-specific fine tuning & those resulting from physics adjustments - these can still add up to substantial differences, and we also plan to add a couple of car-specific adjustments so users have some room to customize them to their preferences - but as far as the core system goes however we consider FFB wrapped for v1.0
IMPORTANT: "OLD DEFAULT" FFB profile has been discontinued in v0.9.3.1 - there´s only one default FFB profile (the... -
Reiza General Update - Fresh 2019 News!
Hello everyone!
Time to break radio silence again to bring you some fresh news about what´s happening with Reiza and our projects over recent weeks and for the foreseeable future.
Reiza rFactor 2 Bundle - May Update
As previously announced, we´ve continued development of the rF2 content this month focusing primarily on development of the two additional Imola versions - the 1988 and 2001 layouts, which will be added free of charge to all who bought the Imola track or any pack that included it.
Below a couple of WIP previews - now the rF2 Mclarens will have some era-accurate official tracks to stretch their legs on
There´s also been some work done elsewhere in the pack with further polishing and sorting a few remaining issues - more notably we have added the missing wet tire compound for the MCR S2000 and we are working on adding the turbo model to the Metalmoro cars that feature it.
Wiith the...
