There's been a big change yesterday in AMS2's FFB signal with the refresh rate reduced to 360Hz. This made the road texture feel much more gritty and noisy with the old settings, due to no interpolation filter on the wheel setup.

Fortunately, NO changes are needed to the custom ffb text file, only to the sim settings and Fanatec Wheel Settings, turning Interpolation ON to its minimum level: 1.

For Fanatec Podium Wheels (DD1/DD2), I now recommend the following:

New Wheel Settings: Interpolation = 1
    New Sim Settings:
    Gain 61-63
    Low Force Boost 31
    FX 86-92

If you find good settings for other wheels on this new version, please comment below.

The attached file has the SAME FFB settings file, but with updated screenshots for Sim FFB and Fanatec Setup screen.

I also suggest using the latest Fanatec Beta Firmware (v365), but prior versions (as of v352) should feel fine as well.

A more detailed explanation for the settings changes: Prior FFB signal at 500-600Hz was barely enough to run with Interpolation = OFF. Now that it's down to 360Hz, for a smooth feel we need to turn on interpolation filter at its minimum level (1), but then the small details and crisp on center feel get smoothed away, so you'll need to multiply your FX by a factor of 2-3 to maximize detailed clarity. I've increased my FX from 36 all the way to 90.

To allow for higher FX based forces, I found I needed to turn down the Gain to 60-63. Then, I've found the Low Force boost now conveys certain details that aren't present in the other signals, especially at low self-aligning torques.

I don't follow what you mean? Where do I find this setting?
I also have found the FFB to be gritty and noisy and I'm not really a fan of that feeling and would like to be able to reduce the noise.

Thanks, what can we on belt drives do to lessen the grinding?

You may want to try the latest file in the following thread, as they’ve added smoothing to it:

Automobilista 2 Custom Force Feedback - Overview & Recommendations

There’s lots of complexity to that one including lots of wheel specific accommodations. Let me know how you think it compares on belt drive — if you still like the overall feel of this simpler file better I can try merging in the smoothing.
