First time I've ever had low gpu utilization. I tested after the update, and it happens at Kansai going through pits, also starting at the back of the grid in the evening hours. Also, certain parts of Sebring without any car present. I'm running mostly high settings with some on low and was able to hold great framerates no matter the conditions before. I have updated my gpu driver and ran steam integrity check. Steam did find 2 files without any changes related to fps. I'm running a 13600k, 4080, and 32 gigs of ram. I'm about to reset my graphics settings by deleting the documents folder. If anything changes I'll report back. Update! reverted back to older graphics driver brought my fps back up, still not the best but way better than before. Hope this helps someone.

I followed all the steps mentioned above and saw only a slight improvement in FPS. However, when I tried changing some in-game settings from low to medium, the FPS dropped again. At this point, the only viable option for me is to keep using the previous version, which was working perfectly fine.

An update: I deleted my user folder again and now FPS is ok!

For me the fix was to update (choose clean install on options) the nvidia drivers

I joined up specifically because I came across this thread. As of this week, I seem to be having serious performance issues with the game randomly. This is in VR (both steamvr and oculusvr) using Virtual Desktop on a Meta Quest 3 set to the High graphics mode, unfortunately have not had a chance to try non-vr since I noticed last night. I've tried the following:
    - Verifying the game files
    - Running DDU and clean installing the latest Nvidia drivers
    - Running DDU and clean installing the hotfix w11 NVidia drivers from last month
    - Deleting my Automobilista 2 folder and starting fresh
    - Supersampling isn't even an option for me, it's just a solid line item with no entries - I checked the graphics xml for all VR and it is set to 0.

    What I'm seeing:
    - My fps does not go higher than 72 (my refresh rate is set to 90 in VD)
    - My GPU utilization hovers around 25-35%
    - My CPU Utilization sits around 20%
    - Any forward movement - i.e. leaning forward or driving a car - causes big dips in framerate and hitching, while looking around with just my head seems buttery smooth (this is the weird one!)
    - Modifying graphics settings has no impact on this at all - I've tried cranking MSAA to High and turning it off completely, I've dropped everything to low, you name it.

    My Specs:
    - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
    - NVidia RTX 4080 Super
    - 32GB Ram
    - Windows 11, updated to whatever their latest build is
    - The game is installed on an nvme drive

These are the same specs I've had for about 3 months, and I haven't had any issues up until trying to do some driving yesterday night. The last time I jumped in was January 2nd, and I had flawless performance.

One thing I still need to try is going straight through the Oculus cable to rule out a Virtual Desktop issue, but I just want to log what's going on with me to hopefully either get some help or give some good info to the team if there is indeed a weird perf issue.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help, and definitely lemme know if there's anything else I can provide!

Edit: Tried non-VR, and with everything cranked to the max at 3440 x 1440, I'm getting over 200fps in a race with 25 AI. So this is more and more looking like a VR specific thing. I'll keep investigating.

Edit 2: OK, I may have figured this out. And hopefully this helps anyone else that comes across this. Just want to start off by saying Windows 11 is an absolute dumpster fire right now - my desire to switch to linux is growing exponentially every day.

So, there are some settings I've not noticed before in the System > Display > Graphics menu:
    1. Optimizations for windowed games - This was toggled on, so I toggled it off, not sure if this had an actual effect or not, but I don't trust it with the latest track record microsoft has with gaming performance optimizations.
    2. Custom Settings for Applications - This lists out a bunch of GPU intensive programs. AMS2 has three entries on this list: AMS2AVX.exe, AMS2.exe, and a second AMS2AVX.exe. There's a GPU performance dropdown within these, and all three were set to "Let windows decide", however, AMS2.exe had "(High Performance)" next to the Let Windows Decide text. The other two did not. I set all three to High Performance.

After doing this, I'm locked at 90fps with appropriate GPU utilization. I'm still having an issue where Virtual Desktop is displaying 80-84fps while my nvidia overlay is displaying 90fps locked - so not sure what's going on there, but I'm not experiencing any hitching or other normal visual issues you'd normally get with an inconsistent framerate in VR. I was even able to bump up to the Ultra setting in VD with no issues. I'm assuming VD just has a bug with its performance overlay or something.

This is absolutely insane - What a nightmare! Anyway, hopefully this is the last of my issues.
Here's a screenshot of the settings:

Another VR user here. 9800X3D (OC) + RTX5080 (OC).
Doing time to time LMU endurance races I've noticed next issue with performance:
Race starts with 120 FPS capped for me in any scenario (car/track). But within race progress - performance drops in progression. My assumption is that people going into the grass, destroying corner distance signs and so on - generates some extra load to GPU, for whatever reason.
    Definitely worth checking.

Vehicles going off road can generate particles and translucent dirt that can cause huge framerate dips while it lasts. This is not specific to VR and I have reported it in the issue thread. I cannot think that Reiza is not aware of this performance issue.
