Definitely needed and helps, but I think more could have been done.

For example, having historic track packs but then some versions of historic tracks only available when buying the modern versions.

[Having Lamborghinis in the Imsa pack but then if I want the other Lamborghini I need to buy another pack and pay for the Imsa Lamborghini again. Same with the Endurance packs and the Lamborghinis.]- seems if you buy the Imsa pack it deducts the price for content you already own.

I appreciate the changes and hope that further down the road things will be organized even more.

Okay this is a reach, maybe, because I'm sure you have your hands full, but many games will show you all the content within the game, with items you haven't purchased flagged as unowned, often with a link to the steam page or an in-game purchase option. I think if AMS2 had the ability to show ALL content as a filter, whether owned or not, in a way that you could see the image and say "Oh, I want that" and know which DLC to go get to get it, might be great, whether it's a track or a car. Having things just "not there" makes it quite hard to know what you're missing. It also has the ability to spark sales because people will be able to browse the content and decide to purchase it, even if they didn't know it existed before.

This would require the current dlc to be repacked and shuffled around which they already said isn’t on the cards, besides this really isn’t that big of an issue compared to the confusing mess that is the premium expansion packs
Why do you need to pay twice for the Lamborghinis or Endurance packs? The IMSA bundle gets cheaper the more items you own.

I think this is a great initiative - I own most of the stuff I do want to (bought the 2 historic track packs and the new EP3 yesterday) and this won't force me to buy what I don't (stadium trucks, RX, road cars) so it won't directly benefit me at all, but all for simplicity and lowering the barrier to entry.

For me, you could go further still and combine some of the Historic Track Packs, the Endurance Pack etc into a single one. Or, if the idea is to make bundles for each 'series' that works too.

Finally! I am happy that this is set to motion!
For me it would be perfect if people (like myself) who bought SP 2020-2022 would also have Premium Packs checked on store page (because I have these DLCs) - screen in polish, sorry.
I'm not sure why this is showing as missing in the library as a whole.

    Thank you for changes!

Personally, if there were any AMS2 DLC I did not already own, then I would really appreciate the option to obtain "All Remaining Content" in a single purchase, which automatically applies any current sale prices, promotions, etc. That way, AMS2 owners could easily and skilfully pit for a splash & go, for the win.

I like the option of keeping the individual dlcs (racin usa 1-3, monza, spa, e.t.c) and removing the expansion packs and season pass and maybe more bundles.
I believe the option of choice should not be underestimated especially for newer players. When i was new to the sim, I was not comfortable getting the racin usa expansion pack and started with part 1 that i found more appealing. This did lead me down the road of owning everything but i dont think it would have started if I had to get everything because i wanted one.
A way to look at it now is if there was an endurance expansion pack containing the three endurance packs and I just wanted to get the LMP2's. I would rather just get endurace pt2 pack than having no choice but to get the entire endurance expansion pack (even if it got cheaper).
Yes, the dlc list might still have some distance to it, but that just comes with the age of the game and increased content. It'll at least be more streamlined this way with no dlcs inside of dlcs

Other games can do this (show what you already have), so it is possible in Steam.

I believe in AMS2 if you don't own the DLC you can't see the car/track/series in question, It could be shown but greyed out with the info on where to get it, this is how LMU/RF2/ACC do it and it's easy enough to see.

Appreciate the IMSA pack discount for the latest release. Up until now I had got nearly everything as I went along rather than with the passes, so they always show up as un-purchased even though I have the content :)

I think that using Steam bundles more heavily is a great idea and is way better than having a bunch of packs which get you ownership of other DLC without being very clear on which. This should make understanding the available content (and the price of it) much simpler.

EDIT: Will there continue to be an inclusive bundle of some sort, so it is easy to complete one's DLC collection and with a small discount?

This is organised even worse than before, made me laugh a little :D

The Premium Expansion Packs includes all Expansion Packs and DLCs with the exception of the 5 Premium DLC Tracks (Hockenheimring, Silverstone, Nurburgring, Spa-Francorchamps & one TBA), and is designed for users who may not have interest on those tracks or already acquired them individually or via the Premium Track Pack - buying this pack & Premium Track Pack is equivalent to owning the 2020-2022 Season Pass.

So as described, premium expansion pack + premium track pack = 2020-2022 season pass.

Why Premium Expansion Packs description doesn't just simply list content it has, instead steam page lists whats NOT included. Really?

It's listed as not in my library, however I have season pass bought, and own all premium tracks. I guess for me premium track pack would be just racin' usa then, but I also have all three of them bought, so I dont know what it offers me for $67 :D Also it still allows me to buy racin usa full expansion pack for $25, but I have all three packs bought separatly or via season pass (dont remember if it was in season pass). What will I get now if I buy racin usa full expansion pack? Nothing?

It's a great idea to tidy the DLC page but somehow it's even more confusing now, I am glad I already bought almost everything so I don't have to figure it out now :D

Keep working on it, this should be a lot easier to navigate.

Apologies if this has already been addressed, but the wording on the various DLC pages on Steam is still needlessly confusing. Does Valve not allow developers to update content descriptions?

I've read the post at the top of this thread and then I checked my own Steam client to try and see what I am still missing and when checking some of the bundles, they still don't accurately describe what is included.

Which track is still TBA? Is this a placeholder for Monza or Le Mans? Checking the other DLC pages does not clarify this and if Monza is the TBA circuit, why has the product page remained unfixed for what appears to be more than three years? Again, it is not my intention to ruffle feathers if this is territory that has been covered ages ago.

You would be the kind of user we are looking to help out with these upcoming measures, unfortunately in your case it seems the damage is already done to some extent but let´s at least try to clear up what the confusion was there.

The Premium Expansion Packs include the various expansion packs from the original DLC plan, featuring cars, tracks, or a bit of both - these include all parts of Racin´ USA, Adrenaline, Braziliand Racing Legends ;the Premium Track Pack combines the original six track DLCs you could also buy individually into one; finally the 2020-2022 Season Pass combined the contents from both; if you had purchased the Season Pass before the others there was no need for you to buy either the Premium Expansion Pack or the Premium Track Pack, much less any of the of the individual items each of those packs also included; they were just smaller assemblies of the same contents that were already included in the Season Pass.

Eliminating these redundancies and preventing users such as yourself from making unnecessary purchases is one of the driving purposes of the changes here as with the updated DLC listing there will be no redundancies so no risk of buying the same content more than once; if things still seem confusing at the moment it is partially because the process is not yet over and the old DLCs are still being listed with their outdated descriptions - these won´t stand for much longer we´re just holding out for Valve´s input there to get them removed.

As to why offer these redundnacies to begin with - as one can gather just from glancing through the feedback on this thread, user preference can and does vary a lot: some prefer to have as big a breakdown of options as possible so they can buy specifically the content they might be interested in, others prefer to have less purchasing to do and to be able to grab bigger portions in one go at a discount; trying to cater to both while still keeping to licensing constraints which don´t always allow us to handle IP exactly how we might see fit can get tricky :)

We always have been in favour of providing more options so users could go with the ones that suited them best, but on the long run these efforts did end up becoming confusing for users and proving detrimental to the game itself; this is a course correction into a much tidier DLC marketplace which is not expected to please everyone´s personal preferences, but that despite persisting constraints offer a far more straightforward experience.

I don't know if it's a bug, but it would be important to mark the "premium track pack" for those who had already purchased all the tracks, which is my case... as it is, it seems that I don't have them and the DLCs are incomplete on the Steam list.
    :(

If you bought the tracks individually it won´t check out the Premium Track Pack for you as that is its own DLC on the Steam backend - it´s the same thing for Racin´ USA Pt1-2-3 vs the full Expansion Pack; it´s just the way Steam works I´m afraid, we can´t really change that.

But you will know that you already own the items of that pack, so hopefully that keeps you safe from buying them again :)

The content description on the Premium Expansion Pack DLC page still includes the old text marking a premium track as TBA and it also implies that part 3 of Racing USA has still not released.

There was one time where I wanted to grab everything that I was missing from the DLCs (even the stuff that I'm usually not personally interested in like the Adrenaline pack etc, but maybe in future) so as a future proofing thing I got everything I had missing at a certain point on a nice sale.

I remember I ended up posting here or in reddit, asking for help to figure out and even sharing screenshots of my owned and missing DLCs trying to have more people help me figure out and point out what should I buy.

After this change, I think they're trying to fix that issue as many more people might have been going through the same process as me.

After this update we got the Ligier JS2R which I really loved driving, close racing since it's not insanely powerful that the lap times have huge deviations between drivers, no ABS no TC means lot's of car control fun, simple to setup, not much to go around means it's hard to fail at it honestly. And it's a simple understeery car which makes it very safe for rookies while still incentivising the learning of threshold braking and trail braking on a single car.
(Can't brake to hard or you'll lock, due to the understeer tendency having a 1% brake trail phase will help induce rotation into corners)
Can't wait to get the Ligier LMP4 and put them both together in a multiclass race just like IRL. And ofc recreating the race I saw irl in portimao with the Portimão track in AMS2 would be amazing.
not sure if the licensing would be a problem but there could be probably other names used to bypass that, and there is already an approximation of the track in PC2 that I wish we could at least just get it ported over, but ofc it probably wouldn't be updated to the current Reiza standard for tracks.
