Think my vr issues are down to my quest 3 or the software running it. On my pc when I click on the quest all the text etc goes all pixelated then clears (never done this before). Does this without even the link cable plugged in

I am going to delete quest and reinstall

Looking at the installation instructions I don't see why it wouldn't work with the oculus app. If you're using OpenXR I think that's different and I don't know enough about OpenXR to comment.

    All I did:-
    - Downloaded the VRToolkitReshadeUniversal_*.zip
    - Extracted the contents to the AMS2 folder where the .exe is located.
    - As per the Game List, renamed ReShade64.dll to dinput8.dll (or ReShade32.dll if you're running 32bit)
    - The Reshade setting button then appeared when I opened the SteamVR dashboard.

I'd imagine it would be the same when you open the oculus app. If it doesn't work you can always delete the extracted files in the AMS2 folder. I think it just overwrites one AMS2 file, so either save a backup of that file or run a steam file integrity check to get it back after the delete.

Will try running in Steam VR, because with Link, MSAA never worked with -vrnomirror.

How do you navigate all the menus with the -vrnomirror option? Most ui elements i can navigate with my wheel but there are some i still need to use mouse for and it prevents me from using this launch command

I bought a cheap Macro Keypad and a trackpad off amazon. mapped all the menu controls to it.

PCVR with USBC to ETH capped speed: issue and solution

    Hello, everyone,

recently I bought a WAVLINK 340GD usb-c to ethernet adapter. When I plugin it in Quest 3, it works, however there is huge network latency when checking from Virtual Desktop performance overlay while running 500mbps H264+. i almost randomly notice that could be due to the usb connector orientation!

    In my case, i performed iperf3 test PC <--> asus router <--> usbc2Eth <-->Quest3,
In one case it capped at 330 mbps (which is more or less USB 2.0 standard), FLIPPING 180 degree the usbc coonection of the usb2Eth adaptor, capped at 980 mbps on both tx and rx. tested it yesterday in desperation, because the wifi connection was faster than the cabled connection..which didn't really make sense. In this way i could keep h264+ at above 450 mbps with constant latency. Please give a try! It's really really annoying, but seems a issue, not sure if due to poor implementation or defects of the usbc port.

Hope this will save headache to someone

    P.S.

Yesterday I played few game and I confirm that the simple flip solved all my issues, never played AMS2 with such a beautiful look and stability. Gorgeous!

what was your network latency reading in the performance overlay before flipping the cable ?

if i let VD do the autobitrate, the speed was set to 190 which was very low. In this case the latency was ok few milliseconds. The problem is that if i tried to force higher speeds the latency got crazy..like 150msec, completely useless. It was simply not able to get more speed, my hypotesis is that it was recognised as an old usb2.0 port.

Thanks I am doing the same setup with H264+ at 500 on my quest 3 with a rx6800XT. I wasn't getting a very good auto bitrate either abd jusrt set it manually and it is good.

Yes, it would be great if someone who knows how to allign the new HUD best in VR (without any additional tools) could make a small guide "How to setup HUD in VR in latest version".

Quest 2, max resolution 80 hz and connect with Link. In 1.6.9 what was perfect in more perfect, and with MSAA 4x and 1.2 SuperSampling.

My 12GB VRAM are really happy now!

My advice to specific settings and Benchmark: If you are happy with performance racing in Hockenheim at 18-19 PM, you can go for everything.

I'm using it until the battery totally dies even plugged and waiting for a headset with more than 120 horizontal FOV that don't cost me a kidney.

Recently I’m having stuttering in vr on quest 3 (I have had to drop back to 72hz and standard 1.0 in oculus settings). I was running it maxed before

Any chance you could post your settings in Nvidia panel as I was butter smooth previously but it’s gone to pot now. I’m running a 4080

    thanks

I just set MFAA on, 4X, override aplication settings, and ser ingame MFAA medium. And always keep cache unlimited.

And in Oculus Debug Tool, set bitrate to 650. But Quest crap software is a hell when updates, always broke something.

I posted over in the Help Section wrt having some serious performance issues with VR starting this week that have never been present before, and I believe I stumbled upon a solution, so I figured I'd share that over here in case anyone has a similar experience to me:
    Performance Reports - V1.6.9

TLDR: I started to experience low GPU utilization and low frame rates in AMS2 in VR mode specifically. I think I managed to solve this by forcing High Performance for the three entries for AMS2 in the Custom Settings For Applications in Windows 11's System > Display > Graphics menu.

Change my AMS2AVX.exe to performance like you do in Windows settings improve a lot my low FPS. Now can go up particles settings and keep out of reprojection.

    Great find!
