Is it possible to have an on/off switch for the engine vibration effect ? With FX set to > 10 I have very strong oscillation problem on my DD1 and can't stop it increasing damper/friction effect on the base.

Same setup and same problem. Default + with the fanatec recommended settings felt godlike but now im constantly searching for a clean custom force feedback setup as some cars went crazy and most cars constantly vibrate now

A quick Question: My FFB is a bit too Granular with only certain cars. (Ultimate F's) Road effects are like riding over gravel.
Whats the best way to tone the granularity down just a little?

For what it's worth, I have a CSL DD 8nm and I run game FFB at 55 and Fx at 15 and wheel base FEI at 60. Anything higher feels too grainy and sharp for me.

Good setting in my opinion. I have gain at 40% and I think that at 35% it will be better. But, don't you feel artificial movements and slow reactions of the wheel with damper? If I put only 5% of damper in my SimuCube driver I feel that... :/ I don't know if Reiza has to add real cars natural damper for it yet...

    Uhh.
Unfortunately, I could not set up the FFB for my G923 so that it suited me.
I tried everything possible: tuning stock settings, set-up custom ones - I don’t like the result: with settings above average - the steering wheel reacts too much to everything and rattles, with lower settings - it is weak and not sensitive.
At the same time, there are no problems with tuning in the AC, ACC, R3E: the FFB is sensitive, thin and works out of the box. The result and work suit me more than.
I give up. I do not know how to set up acceptable.
What can you suggest and advise?

Use rFuktor ATMOS 4.1 (4xFX.1WHEEL) V. 1.3.3 FIX (WITH YAW) with gain 90, LFB 60, FX 40 DAMP 10. And stop trying to fiddle with the FFB to make it into something else, take the time to learn what the FFB is saying and you will find it's actually more informative than in other games.

I had same frustration and was willing to give up

but what I did to get back to enjoying the FFB was

delete AMS2 folder completely in windows My documents
    Restart game and set up
    Calibrate wheel and pedals
Start with default+ and tune slider one by one

didn’t feel the need to go to Custom FFB afterwards

One more custom file to try out:
    - GAIN : 100,
    - LFB: 20,
    - FX/DAMPING: whatever you prefer but start with 0
and use per car FFB gain to tweak center feel and strength of the wheel in corners.

Hi guys I am new to AMS2 and am really enjoying it in VR!

The only thing I am struggling with a bit is the FFB. I have a G29 wheel and have messed around a bit with the in game settings and also tried the popular G29 custom file by DeRuleX. Whilst they are fun to drive I don't feel like I have any idea when the wheels are skidding or are about to skid. I tested this by turning off the sound and also my buttkicker and indeed couldn't sense this through the wheel alone. Could anyone let me know what could be the best settings for this specifically? I am not too concerned about the additional advanced effects. Many thanks!

If you balance and like use the profile default/+, otherwise follow user's great advice with the ATMOS 1.3.3, the tuner created it for all bases using a G920/G29 equipment so pretty much very similar to your G923.
Alternatively (advice also for @azaris) you can also try the latest known ATMOS 1.4 with yaw (I don't know if it is definitive version 1.4) and that I also use this with many others on a completely different basis (I think it has never been published due to the absence of the same user creator). The link is here down...

what does the damping actually do in this game? i see people recommending like 50, that seems like the wheel would be very damped and just resistance

i have a SC2 and was wondering about in game damping and fx, what does fx even do?

maybe the devs should just have it like other games where the ffb is the same for everyone without all these options or at least put tool tips in the forcefeedback section of the options

AMS2 ffb is unique (perhaps similar to ACC Dynamic Damping) in the way it applies Damping so yes, 50% is the recommended starting point. With my SC2, I run about 40% damping (in-game ffb) but, that's on top of 15% Friction in True Drive. I suggest using Damping as the overall steering response speed setting and adjust other ffb settings to preference, from there.

FX = effects in a sense. It's the details and overall bump effects, road surface, tire scrub, etc. The level of FX is subjective.

Maybe try increasing your "[INT] FFB Interpolation Filter" in fanatec control panel.
