Very difficult to answer. Defaults are very different from the customs and cannot be compared. In addition, Reiza's recommended settings for defaults are over 2 years old. During this time, physics and the FFB have changed significantly. Regarding your question about the damping. Yes, damping should be used in the defaults because there is no significant oscillation on the wheel. The stronger the base, the worse it gets. Unfortunately, increasing the damping creates exactly the opposite, the swaying is increased. That's why unfortunately I can't give you any recommendations for the defaults because it doesn't work for me personally

What is the source of these oscillations?

In my opinion the problem lies with the physics and the interaction with the FFB. Damping should eliminate vibrations, whether in the game or at the base. But increasing damping in the game does exactly the opposite - it increases the vibrations. So you have to increase the damping extremely at the base to reduce the vibrations, which in turn is bad for the liveliness of the wheel. It also swallows up a lot of details and makes it sluggish. The more you have to use damping, the more details are lost. A few different customs show that there is another way. In the end, to each their own

That is precisely why you say that I don't really like ams2.
Although I wish I liked it more because of the amount of excellent content it has.

Same issue and this is why i use a custom FFB file.

The oscillation and forces on curbs are too extreme. It can be dangerous for the wrist with a high power DD . Even with dampening effect the forces are still too high.

    What's new:
    • Introduced speed dependency and non-linearity to weight transfer function
    • Further car rotation tweaks (new algorithm)
    • Stronger off-track suspension effects
    • Corrected a bug that was cancelling front scrub effects
    • (please, read the notes - very important to achieve more pleasure and less pain...)
    Still to improve/implement:
    • (no roadmap)

    "Rack_Force"

Remember RealFeel for rFactor 1, or the FFB that AMS1 shipped with?

You can feel the front end becoming light through understeer naturally, you can feel every kerb, you feel the downforce load on to the front end. It's amazing.

It's also the simplest file i could make, it's the forces going through the steering rack, normalised.

This is, as far as I can tell, that. As small a file as possible, 0 filtering, smoothing, helpers, or variables. The only thing in the menu that does anything is GAIN.

Use GAIN to stop clipping, and that's you.

Thank you Joaquim Pereira for a message in here many months ago. I used that line and then deleted everything else in the file.

    # NAME: Rack_Force

    (rack (/ arm_force M_max_force_at_rack))
    (output rack)
    (output (* output gain))
    (histogram output)

    Excelent!!,
    I was looking for that.
You just reawakened my interest in AMS2
Tested with beta 1.6. (Fvee, LMP2, BMW m3)
A very natural driving feel in all cars
    Thx

Anyone managed to get a slight wheel rumble when the car is stopped in neutral? Would love that effect...

Hey mate how’s it going. Sorry to be a pain. But could you PM the best FFB file and settings for a moza r9. Trying to figure it out but just can’t get my head around it all

Has anyone posted an optimal file for the Logitech G Pro Direct Drive wheel? When I search the forum thread I tend to find G29 and other belt driven files. Just hoping someone can make the search a little faster.

Not really "optimised for your specific wheel" but this, in theory should work well with any wheel :) I have a Moza R9, no filtering, damping, or smoothing in the software for the wheel at all.

    Hey Daniel,
Since the 1.6 update there is a noticeable change in the FFB v6000v2 Extreme Belt Driven.

There is a lot of chatter coming from certain rumble strips in track/car combos like GT3 at Adelaide.

I used to run Gain 70 - FX 24 but now have to drop to gain to 65 and FX as low as 10/15 to stop the overblown kerbs from rattling my teeth out?

However, doing so also removes the other FX from other areas that are not as artificially boosted as some of these new rumble strip FX?

It does mention in the patch notes that the FFB has been reset / changed for some cars and all setups have been reset but it seems there may need to be a rebalance on some kerbs for some cars in line with other FFB effects.

I can take the car out later today, and give you the exact car and corner that the issue is now appearing (was not present in 1.5) for you to test on your wheel if this helps.

    Cheers

If the psychics are changed the ffb will change also, they are not separate from each other

    Good morning
My customs from the V6000 series have already been adapted to the new hysteresis. They were mainly tuned for the Formula Ultimate Gen2. Of course, I can now vote even more precisely with the definitive update 1.6. But it will remain the V6000 series (probably V6000 extreme 3) because this file is now very mature and is very precisely tailored to the bases. I don't think the driving behavior has fundamentally changed with the update, although I haven't had time to test it yet. But I read that all the standard setups of the cars were adapted by Reiza. That's why I think there may be more customization from the custom files to the standard setups than to the actual Reiza 1.6 update since my files are always based on the standard setups. Tomorrow I will have time to test this big update. It seems there is a lot to discover, not just physics and the FFB, and I'm looking forward to it:)

Yes, thanks, I'll take a look at it and test what the update did. Thanks for your feedback;)

Good morning I have only tested it briefly myself and your settings worked brilliantly with the new update I look forward to any future updates and I look forward to hearing what you think yourself once you have had adequate time with V1.6
