We really had some great news, but I confess I'm also looking forward to part two. In fact, I'd really like to read that we'll have a qualifying system with Q1, Q2, and Q3. And I also hope for an improvement in the physics of the Brazilian Stock Cars, like we did with the GT3s.

I hope I'm wrong about this prediction, but I bet part two will come out on Thursday, and the update itself on Saturday, especially since he mentioned a small unforeseen issue with a license, so I believe he'll wait until the last minute to release the update. All we can do is hope it gets resolved quickly, otherwise this content will surely be left for the next update.

I was already worried that the next update wouldn't arrive until the Steam Summer Sale at the end of June. Now I'm even happier that the fun can start as early as this week!

The content sounds very promising, and I can't wait. I'm most excited about the Custom BOP.

    Thanks, Reiza!

Awesome update and so much content and features to get excited about. Huge Renault fan since about 1979 so great to see them added to the sim. Huge Alonso fan as well and adore the R25 and R26 although I'm not a big Formula fan, so I'm hoping we get some Clio Cup cars so we can run some spec series races.

This is truly a golden age of racing games. The simulations are all getting well supported then there is a healthy amount of arcade games coming soon.

Looks like great content coming in a few days and over the next few months.

I would love to see a track pack for the 2000s to flesh out the seasons for these cars. Even just an Asia pack with some combination of Singapore, Fuji, Sepang, Bahrain, and Shanghai would be awesome.

Honestly, I was hoping for massive AI improvements as single priority. Now pit strategies is the topic of the day - so be it.

Date of release of F-USA Pack is already quite some time ago, but still oval racing against the AI is no fun due to numerous problems (me and others already mentioned some of them, AI lines combined with speed on ovals being the most precious one for me).

Friendly reminder to this post related to my words above: AMS2 AI Developer Q&A - Physics & AI

Apart from that: thanks for the update.

Does anyone know exactly when the update drops? I've been waiting for it for a while now.

I recommend you stop waiting and go do something else until it releases.

Did anyone notice we're getting a brand new McLaren for Formula v10 Gen 2? With the announcement of the 3 Renaults, I think this brand new McLaren has been mostly under the radar right? Was it announced somewhere or was this screenshot the shadow drop?

    Or maybe I'm wrong??

Pretty sure the McLaren is the licensing thing Renato mentioned that they have to solve. It's already confirmed in the Overtake article just like Hungaroring

I would like to see commentators at the trackside using their national languages, for example in Monza. I believe that would be very emotional and perfectly capture the atmosphere. I hope for Future.

I have one more thing to say: since we now have Freecam, I'm going to start the game in VR. I'll choose my seat from Monza in 2003. I'll get out the popcorn and turn up my 5.1 system.

And big Thx for YOU """ REIZA TEAM""""

Before we move forward with Part 2 and the update release itself, allow me to expand on the licensing complications that have been impacting the timing of this release as these challenges have become more complex over the course of this week; it is important we address the implications both for current as well as future Automobilista 2 content.

As most of you can hopefully appreciate, AMS2 is an unusually complex project from a licensing perspective, with a vast collection of manufacturers, teams, championships, circuits, and historical content, each governed by its own set of agreements and restrictions; as the title continues to expand and bring new players and things continue to evolve also for the respective IP holders, new restrictions emerge iin areas that were previously unaffected.

This has proved to be the case following recent discussions with McLaren Racing regarding an extension of our existing licensing agreement, which the intent of also bringing additional McLaren F1 cars to AMS2; These negotiations ultimately reached an impasse as recent commercial developments involving McLaren prevent the company from licensing or re-licensing its F1 cars to games that also feature officially licensed F1 content from other manufacturers, be them current or from other eras.

The practical consequence for AMS2 is that we will likely be required to make a difficult choice as to which officially licensed F1 cars remain in the game for new purchases; either the McLarens or the Brabham, Lotus, and Renault F1 cars will remain official content; the content we opt out of would become generic models.

Let me highlight again that existing users would not be affected by this - content already owned will remain available exactly as it is today. Any eventual change to the content would apply only to future game and DLC purchases.

Given the uncertainty surrounding these restrictions and how we could best navigate them, we have elected to change our plans for the upcoming release and the Formula Pack meant to be released with it as covered in Part 1 of the June Dev Update; rather than releasing them as a new DLC pack as was planned, the new cars will be integrated as free base game content for all users— that includes the recently announced Renault F1 cars, for however long these remain part of the game. This will be a financial hit for us but our priority is to get the content out for our users to enjoy.

Irrespective of how this turns out, we almost surely will be forced to disable some of the official F1 cars in the game which is a disappointing outcome to everyone, not least to ourselves as we have invested significant time, resources, and passion into developing all this content with the expectation that it would remain part of the AMS2 ecosystem for years to come. But this is a reality we need to navigate while developing a product that relies partially on third-party intellectual property

It is important to emphasize that there is no dispute, ill intent or targeting from any party here – certainly not from McLaren who have been nothing but kind in their efforts to try accommodate us alongside their existing commitments. This is simply the result of evolving contractual obligations between multiple parties, which have created restrictions where they didn´t previously exist; it is unfortunate, but it comes with the territory.

We will continue doing our best preserve AMS2´s unique content pool complete for existing and new players alike, and will keep you informed if and when things develop in a direction that might not allows us to.

@Renato Simioni I think it's really good that you are so transparent about this. Even if I'm a Beta tester, I would have still payed for everything gladly and I still would. Because all this hard work in all these years shouldn't be for nothing. I hope that everything may be able to settle in the future with these difficult licensing issues and that some Manufacturers are open to have other Manufacturers in a simulation.
I know you and your team will come back from this setback stronger and this community fully believes in what you are doing. That's why it's great that you are transparent. Other Devs for other games or even Sims would have not talked about it. Some things are not meant to be but from every setback, you learn and you get stronger.
