About ACC, we should stop comparing ACC with AMS2.Better some AMS2 fans should stop to talk about ACC as it's a counter productive method to defend AMS2 if we make analysis on where every single discussion about ACC vs AMS2 led us in the past. Anyway ACC is a respected sim among the sim racing community minus AMS2 fans may be. AMS2 is also respected but amoung a relatively small group of people as it is still searching its place and also searching for recognition. Even if they stopped ACC developpement 2 years ago, ACC status will stay the same. Thus it's still updated frequently even had a major overhaul with the 1.8 version.

About developpement AMS2 vs ACC. Due to the weekly and monthly updates I think that AMS2 fans started to think that active development only means frequent updates. It's debatable...but let say Kunos has a sniper soldier approach more straight to the points (discrete, precise) and AMS2 have an assault soldier approach (a bit noisy, a bit random). Also this one throws grenades time on time that's why we have frequent AMS2 big updates that are breaking the previous one or in rare occasions broke the whole game. But in general the 2 methods are relatively ok , we just need to avoid collateral damages during the process.

About funding, we don't know that Reiza did have investors for AMS2 or not. Investors can be anonymous people or entity, not always racing related big brands. Also even if they had no external investor AMS2 was backed by a prerelease funding system which imho could be largely enough as AMS2 was mainly a version of AMS1 with a better graphic engine at the release day. It was mainly a port not a scratch built sim. AMS2 was lucky also because most of people was ready to accept the fact that finally AMS2 is just modern AMS1, something like this is rare in sim racing. If a sequel is released it has to be different to the previous one.
If AMS2 had any financial loss, I think it's due to the fact that instead of improving the core of AMS2 , they started to release new licensed cars. From there they started to have human resource allocation issues, financial constraints due to licensing, reputation issues due to the sim not reaching expectations, community mayhem, identity crysis , is it AMS1, is it PC2, etc.

About Kunos being "rich "etc, It may be and irrelevant and even lazy argument to defend AMS2, we may need to look at things case by case. ACC was the fruit of Kunos succes with AC. Will AMS3 be the Reiza succes fruit with AMS2? Kunos size during AC developement and Reiza size during AMS2 development are approximatively similar , the rest is a succession of good and wrong decisions from both studio. What I would like to explain is Kunos did not get success gifted to them, they had to work hard also step by step. They didn't get Blanc Pain / GT licences with AC they had to prove their value first then got them with ACC. It's not only about money, it's about studio decisions modding or not, which content to add, which brand to represent, how the pricing model is ? etc.

About AC2. How do we know that Kunos is not working on AC2 already? The boss said they were in R&D phase about one year ago. Kunos often surpised the community over the past , they could have a early prototype of AC2 now. They may be just don't post screenshot etc to avoid all sort of promise and interpretations. Anyway with AC and ACC resources Kunos have enough content to build a prototype AC2 already.

Last time I looked acc was GT3 and GT4 only - pretty boring. Indy car, Formula vintage, classic, Reiza, etc really make AMS2 shine. Would like some tracks that AC have added but the graphic quality and ease of play are real positives. I am so bored with GT3

My only gripe with ACC is Unreal engine lol other than that it is fine on his own...so I agree, comparing the 2 titles is useless...

If I really need to compare a sim to another I would talk about RF2 and how "good" can be "mediocre" at least due to bad development and not for being bad per se...

In case you did not notice the comparison with ACC comes from the original post (written by someone else) I was responding to. I think some of the AC/ACC fanboys here see AMS2 fanboys everywhere as soon as anyone objects to the official narrative even when it's not the case ;)

I used to love playing ACC, but AMS2 ruined acc for me. Driving is more fun in ams2, and I have to choose between usable framerates or a blurry picture in acc vr.

I think comparisons are useful but if done appropriatly and respectfully. Kunos and Reiza have very different methodologies in capturing vehicle physics and it is interesting to compare the results, albeit it may be hard to empirically judge one over the other. Nonetheless there are things that both sims can learn from each other and this can only benefit players of both titles in the future.

Thanks. at least from me because all this 'other sim' stuff would be better in its own 'Sim Comparison thread' .There's is certainly enough material and worth discussion.
As interesting or not as it may be to some.

Had the same issue in some, not all cars. Its likely brakes/tyres and other changes combined, causing this. Reports, post's here and in Beta are always noted and taken onboard for ongoing updates, so improvements should come at some point.

No existing sim an really approach realism because most people do not have access to the massive computing power to simulate every possible element of physics. Developers have to make compromises. On the whole AMS2 does an excellent job of simulating drivability across a really wide range of vehicles. I constantly find new ways to be faster on various tracks driving different cars. It's all about teaching the majority of us who will never drive a race car skills they can replicate. AMS2 consistently challenges me to find fast "solutions" on every track.

I feel like the SC20/21 was actually pretty good last year before the great tyre upheaval right before Christmas (just like all the cars on vintage tyres, such as the BMW 2002 and Mini 1965). Since then it hasn't been the same, it just feels like the tyres or suspension are wrong and while it's slightly faster than irl it just doesn't feel connected to the road, you are constantly slipping and sliding all over the place. That isn't helped by the oversensitive brakes.

So maybe just a revision of the tyre model could fix all the problems. And based on the summary of comments from Vitor Genz, the iRacing version isn't that realistic either (too much oversteer) but because iRacing has better competitive multiplayer that somehow makes it more realistic(?).

Idk about making it more realistic, but it certainly makes it more fun. Even though physics and ffb I personally find fairly worse than AMS2, the only reason I don't do iRacing anymore is money.

I can pay for it, but I find the prices absolutely ridiculous due to exchange rates and I'm a little bit of a penny-pincher. Girlfriend, friends and family keep saying I need to buy a newer car, but my old ass 2005 Clio takes me from point A to point B as any other car, so why would I replace it? :D

Btw, @Renato Simioni please NEVER add Clios to any AMS title!

I'm somewhat against that, Clio Cups are always great fun to drive and race :(

BTW since we've been talking about ACC so much lately I went ahead and tried it again yesterday after not touching it since v1.7 came out with only about two hours in the BMW M4 GT3 after its release. I found that I had a really hard time controlling the cars, probably due to being used to AMS2 so much. They felt really nervous with a loose rear that didn't communicate very well what it was doing through the wheel. No idea if it's a thing with grip or just the different FFB feeling. Maybe ACC is too loose, maybe AMS2 is too forgiving, no idea. I'd probably have to get used to it again but in the end I'm not a big fan of GT3/GT4. I do like those sounds however, the Huracan sounds like nothing else in simracing <3

Always felt that way for me. Feels like the car's behavior can't be influenced by how you try and set your car: in a given corner or phase of a corner the car wants to oversteer and no matter what you do with your setup the car will keep doing that. Your changes are only marginal in affecting the car's behavior and communication of its intentions through steering wheel very bland.
All you are left with is only adjusting the way you drive

    • Organized races directly in the sim that everyone knows when it's gonna happen and can jump into with people of similar skill;

Nowhere in the written translation feedback do I read iRacing multiplayer makes the car more Realistic.....he labeled it a "PRO" of the service.

Glad to hear that the exit oversteer and brakes have been acknowledge and being looked into by the iRacing devs.

I prefer Mini over Clio so I am really happy about that...
Also REIZA hinted to Hyundai I10 (?) race car some time ago so I think the Clio isn't needed anymore...

Not everyone like to feel the rear wheels, shifting or engine in the steering rack, simply because a lot of effects that are put into FFB in games do not belong there in a true Simulation.
