The detail work on the car models is amazing. Each of the three McLaren's look and behave differently. Personally I've been loving the Lotus 98T, that thing is an absolute monster around Long Beach. The default setup is pushing over 900hp in race trim and it feels quick.

Yes same for me. Looks like post apocalyptic winter wasteland and can’t see the track.

Does steering sensitivity work on a pad though? Certainly not if you use buttons but not sure about with the analogue sticks.

Silly question time, the Group C says low downforce but is there another type? If so where do I find it. Thanks

The low downforce trim is for Monza, the ovals and a few other tracks: most other tracks use the regular versions which don't specify the downforce levels like Brands Hatch, Cascais, etc

If you change the track, you will also see the car version and appearance change. For some cars its subtle. for some its a big difference (Group C Nissan and Porsche), though avoid the low downforce Group C Nissan for now as its got a crash to desktop bug.

Low downforce versions are for Monza, historic Hockenheim, Daytona and some others.

Exterior model of the Brabham BT62, C8 06 and Senna shows slicks mounted while there are only street tires available for the car in setup. The wet behaviour in the sim also resembles that of slicks, not street tires. All cars are practically undrivable in wet conditions.

Interesting idea to use the Nissan R390 GT1 from 97 as the variant, but shouldnt it be the other way around? The 98 with the longtail is the normal version and the short tail is the low downforce now. Usually a longtail is made for high speed courses.

Pit road speed can be adjusted now but mine is stuck on 37moh and in the menu I’ve got it set at 60. Exited the sim and returned, issue is at Daytona MC.

I can tell by your post that my driving style is very different than yours, so we'll probably have different opinions on the gamepad changes.
I've always used my own custom controller settings with controller damping at 0, steering sensitivity at 50, speed sensitivity at 50. With controller setup I use steering lock at 15, with custom wheel setup I use steering wheel range at 480 degrees and steering lock at 24 degrees. Even with those settings I found controls are not responsive enough for my driving style, not anywhere as responsive as AMS1. After 2+hrs of testing controls feel exactly the same to me, with Xbox 360 wired controller and my own custom settings, more details here.
I agree on the steering lock part, in other games it's possible to have lower values like 10 or so.

I had my suspicions that the C8 was on a racing slick and not a street tire. The long tire warm up, and overall high grip levels for a street car with 670+ hp seemed a bit strange. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's using the wrong tire.

For the low downforce variants, the standard setup for the gearbox must be higher that the ai can faster on the straights and don't stuck in the gearbox limit.

and please fix the mph bug for the Mclaren MP4/5b and MP4/6. Can anyone hear me?:D

By the way, in the CustomLiveries\Overrides folder they added mclaren_mp45 (not b) and mclaren_mp48. I can see the future:D

I don’t understand why the steering lock is so limited. In PC2 you can go to 1:1 so I think this and certain other setup limitations should be removed or tweaked
