Automobilista 2 V1.5 Officially RELEASED - Now updated to V1.5.0.5

It's not. They're currently still digging through the tire tread, improving, redoing, recalibrating, etc. Last info on the beta was that there had been some promising findings that might prompt another redo for a few classes, and until this is done, there will most likely not be a public release, because this public release is supposed to come with all time trial leaderboards being reset, which only makes sense if physics stay the same afterwards.

I think Reiza would very much like to lock the physics after this update, but because the 1.5 change has been so significant, really figuring out all its effects and the now sometimes significantly differing results some changes produce compared to before seems to be a struggle.

The payoff of this struggle can as of yet not reliably be predicted - AI is going to see a big step though. If I were you guys, I wouldn't hold my breath for a release of anything before the end of the next week, least of all a dev update, because these take time Renato is currently most likely spending with obsessing over tire treads.

As always, predicting Reiza releases is akin to predicting the weather of this very day next year, but better be safe than disappointed.

 

The leaderboards are currently offline (on purpose) to be wiped when the next update comes out.

 

Would be possible to add the Turismo Nacional category into the game? Please?

that's the essence of working with projects. Better deliver good work than delivering quick updates with small content that even isn't done yet.

To me, this looks very clear. Active communication is always the essence in good project work which you obviously have just done. Thank you for that, your customers will pay this sincerity back to Reiza, be sure!

Keep up the good work and give your team a delicious ice cream every now and then. It works wonders!

If possible, could you add a message when people access the timetrial leaderboards that they are offline because of a pending update?

Maybe good to also post a message regarding this in the Steam news overview of AMS2?

There are a lot of people who think they have an issue with their game because timetrial doesn't show/record any times, and considering it will be a while longer now, informing them would be a good thing i reckon

@Renato Simioni Can we please have time trial back!? We all know end of October is end of December and we can't be without time trial for several months.

 

it wouldn't make sense to enable time trial before the update is released, then people would set times only to have them wiped again in a couple weeks time.

they shouldn't have taken them offline until just before the update release was confirmed imho

 

Why would it be end of December instead of October? He said instead of releasing the update now it's going to be end of October.

 

Because Renato wants to make it perfect and we all know perfection takes time.

 

We are running a championship and timetrial was a way to measure ourselves against one another before the races.

Time trial was also a way for us to get setups.

Some people ran a time trial championship and advertised it on Steam.


That's all destroyed now. Right after they confirmed they took the times down on purpose, it was obvious it was blatantly a wrong move to do it before the changes are not final.


Just enable time trial and say we will reset it soon again.

 

Have to take into account that most of the setups on the TT's were for 1.4 and not for 1.5.

So please Reiza.....the blue flag has long been out and you are just overtaking the light.

But please don't burn your tires. Take a rest too!

We still need you for many corners in sim racing. ....after all, Ian Bell is currently working on a new future car that will definitely need a setup from you in order to stay on the race track....
