I got bit by a snake last night , Just when I thought I had everything under control that damn Viper spat me into a wall.
God I love the way it looks but she sure is hard to tame.

Yes, this is a rudimentary explanation of how simulations work, but at the same time, we're sitting at home driving go-karts and trucks with the same steering wheel. LOL! Lots of lemons.

I agree with you, though, that the tire model is actually quite decent, and other areas need more attention. I also think damage needs improvement, especially AI vs. AI collisions. Just yesterday, I saw a McLaren hit the walls twice in Barthurts and then rear-end a BMW. Nothing happened. And me... with damage set to Ultra Maximum, I'm even afraid of the wind! ;D

The AI needs/should be improved further. If you suddenly drive into a pile-up after a two-hour race because the AI, with a 30-second head start, can't get out of the way... well, then the illusion is quickly shattered. Suddenly, tires, ABS, and traction control are just secondary issues.

But the most important thing for me is a save function. There's enduro content everywhere, and we're all just doing sprint races at home. : ... One of the reasons I'm personally in no hurry to buy new Enduro DLC is that I can't properly simulate them anyway with AIs that engage in mass carnage, without damage, and without a save function. Who has the time or inclination to spend hours with an "indestructible" AI that suddenly becomes senile and can't find the road anymore?

If this were a boxing match, you'd say he regularly knocks himself out. So 2-3 rounds are better than 12. Then the competition would work. A save function would allow AMS2 to truly flourish and make all the endurance content worthwhile. Currently, it's a test of courage with your free time as the stake.

This forum tends to focus on simulation... Not "stimulation":D

We thank you for your attention!

Does anyone know what happened to the track names in the setup menus?

Now all setups are displayed as "all tracks" and all the "track name" folders are gone?
Now I have many setups with info related w temps, but that are criptic names and don't say which track they are suposed to belong to.
This organization tab on the left side of the setup menu just disapeared?

I was also reading the comments about "complete GT3 gamechanger" with a grain of salt, but just decided to give them another chance after a few months, and oh my, this is indeed that good! Can't judge how close to the real thing they are, but now GT3s finally feel they make sense, absolutely believable and are such a pleasure to drive, to the point I don't see how they can be further improved... Probably first time ever I really enjoy such cars in any sim..

Good job devs, now whatever you did to GT3s, please do it to (some of the) GT4s, too :)

Okay, at 2005 Le Mans; as you exit Tertre Rouge onto the first long straight, something off to the left is shooting up in the air and it didn't look like a bird to me...
    Anyone?

The Porsche 996 (GT2) is so much fun on the brakes. I feel like I have to 'wiggle' the car into the corner bit-by-bit :D

Also finally tried all the cars from the 2005 pack with the Dallara :p Lovely V10 <3

Never noticed that, and it makes no sense, the game should be always the same time to be fair... haha

One thing I never got is how Reiza does the track surface for the older circuits, especially the ones before the 2000s when Laser scanned tracks first became a possibility. Is it all through video and data from the modern scan?

going back to the issue of setups and filing/names

If you delete a setup in game, although it is removed from the setup list, if you exit the session and restart a session (without exiting the game) the setups return.

They are only deleted once you exit the game

They use methods including but not limited to: Reference photos, reference video, reference terrain survey data, reference driver comments. And here is the thing: Even point cloud data (laser scanning being one such type of data) is simply reference data that still needs to be interpreted into 3D-modeled polygons. In other words, while having access to point cloud data is generally a much more accurate reference than old photos and driver comments, the overall method of making tracks remains the same – cross-checking different reference data, optimizing the 3D mesh for visuals/performance, and so forth.

Yes, the key being the laser scan does not simply map onto the 3D mesh magically. Every track in every game has to have a lot of manual work done on it if you want a surface that is authentic and/or accurate (which are not equal terms).

Thanks for the report, but I couldn't reproduce it. Would you mind sharing a video so I can try to infer what may cause it?

Also, whats your current setup autoload setting (on or off)?

If you alt tab immediately after deleting the setup, do you notice the corresponding setup file disappeared from the vehiclesetups_1_6 folder in ams2 documents profile folder?
