I had a Renault Clio and the only thing I remember when I went off the road on the grass was that the car was sliding without any possibility of correction, how did it end?

I had to scrap the car and I learned that grass is worse than ice. :D

I don't think that in your parts the grass is different and i find all the files on this forum very consistent in this aspect, without going into detail about the differences.

You can choose which one you want, because on any file based on rFuctor, you just need to lower these two variables to the desired level and if you want you can even reset the effect by setting the value to 0.00.

    (kerb_surface_scale x.xx)
    (kerb_bump_scale x.xx)

The modification can also change the way you feel the road so you experiment with different values and find your taste or your level.

@Karsten Hvidberg Can you please point me to the pages where you posted your experimental files? The links in the File collection thread lead to nowhere somehow.
Btw, any news on that front? I thought the new files as a basis were quite promising.

    I'm probably pretty hopeless...
Is there a file to download somewhere? When I click on the "FullFFB" links it brings me to p349 of this post but I don't seem to find anything. I must have sorted it out at some stage because I've been using the original FullFFB custom file....

    Hey ricxx,

I unf. don't know exactly which pages they're on, but I think it was around end November/start December last year.

Reg.further work I lost interest over a long period, since it feels to me like Reiza, early on, turned down some physics update frequencies without modifying all algorithms accordingly, making the cars feel like boats. Slow suspensions etc.etc. Gt3/gt1 cars in Ams2 feel less sporty than my normal family car, to me.
If this is ever fixed I'm sure I'll be spending more time on the ffb files and in Ams2 again.

    Best,

    -K

There are 2 different files there to download. At the end of the post. One is if you use JSGME, which makes it super easy to change Custom Files, and one where you don't. They are zip files.

Is the custom file should be put on the mod file or in the root of automobilista. I download the jsgme.

If you download the 7zip file that is for JSGME here; Automobilista 2 Custom Force Feedback - Overview & Recommendations, you then unzip the Mods folder and the JSGME file into the Documents/Automobilista2 Folder, then run the JSGME program. The first time the program runs, I think it asks for the location of the Mods folder. It becomes very easy. Makes it so much easier to try all the different Custom Files. Just make sure the game is closed each time you change custom files, and obviously choose Custom in game. Most files have suggested settings for most bases in the file itself, and can be viewed with any text editor. Enjoy.

Hm, ok I'll have to have a look then. If anybody knows which pages please let me know.
I thought AMS2 runs at 720Hz. Not entirely sure where I read it or picked this up, I think someone mentioned it somewhere. Not a good basis for a claim, I know :D If anyone knows maybe let us know, I'd like to know as well.

I had a short exchange about this the other day with someone who knows game development a little bit, generally the frequency does not say much. Sometimes lower Hz is better because it's less taxing on people's systems.

Edit: Found the page, will post new links.

I think only the Ams2 developers themselves can tell you that. I've been saying for a long time that the cars feel floating and like a boat with Reiza's defaults. I completely agree with Karsten. Update 1.5 has changed a lot, positive but also negative. And there also seem to be problems with Update 1.6 otherwise it would have been released a long time ago. Anyway, I like Ams2 but there are other good simulations to have fun with

The wait for this update to finally drop surely feels very long, but it doesn't necessarily mean that there are problems. V1.5 was in my view to fix core issues with tyres (iirc some old Isi-motor code interfered with SETA), V1.6 is basically in my view an effort to create a solid foundation/basis, besides many other changes like UI, new physics like humidity and lots of new great content, I think it's great but it looks like it takes longer than anyone of us players anticipated.

I have no idea what's changed for you FFB file creators since V1.5 but V1.6 feels very solid I have to say from a driving standpoint.

If anyone can point me to the direction of the settings packs so I can test them on the R12 that would be great I'm struggling to find any of the settings and when I click links it just diverts me to a thread with no settings in site.

    My signature is already corrected.

I did myself a irl driving experience in a gt Ferrari at Silverstone and after trying real life I still believe AMS2 go very close despite the fact that no sim get close to irl. The feeling and the way to drive is completely different in any case
